Prayers Answered and Prayers Needed

May 11th, 2011 Posted in Prayer Requests

Just a reminder for everyone to take the time and check in on a few of our ‘regulars’ on the prayer chain.

Baby Shay (who is now 1) has good news.  She had a wonderful checkup and now only has to return to Bismarck in 3 months unless something changes.  Check her site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/shaydschaak.

Ali Lengenfelder is having tests and waiting for results before her team decides if she will do another dose of horrible radiation treatment.  The family needs our prayers as a booster for her to try and get through it all or for the big one… A MIRACLE.  Check out Ali’s site at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/alilengenfelder .

And I want to add a new site for everyone.  Ken and Dee Dobitz from Bowman have a grandson in need of prayer.  He is in Fargo and doing better but I wanted to share his story so we could all put him on the prayer list.  You can read his story and check for progress here… http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/kellensolem/mystory

Thanks to everyone for your prayer support.  It means the world to all those who need it.

God Bless each and everyone of you.

Prayers Needed for Levi K.

January 10th, 2011 Posted in Prayer Requests

"I need some prayers. And so does my family."

Please refer to the Caringbridge site for Levi Kordovsky (linked here) and look back over the last couple of days.  Levi could really use some prayers and so could his family.  His counts are low and he will have a longer stay at the hospital again if he doesn’t get them up.

Updates…

January 5th, 2011 Posted in Prayer Requests

Just wanted to remind everyone to check in on the different Caringbridge sites that we have on our GAAW section (upper right hand corner) of the blog.

I haven’t been getting updates from ALL of the families listed, but do know that Baby Shay is traveling to Bismarck for appointments today (travel prayers needed) and that Ali Lengenfelder is making some adjustments to meds because of her thyroid.

Shay Dschaak – www.caringbridge.com/visit/shaydschaak

Ali Lengenfelder – www.caringbridge.com/visit/alilengenfelder

Please let me know if there are any prayers requests that need to be updated on the GAAW section of the blog and if you have anyone you want added to the page.

God Bless Each of You… Robin

Surround Ali with Thoughts and Prayers…

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”
Phillipians 4:6

The girls of the Ali Lengenfelder family will be spending some time together in Minnesota this week, and Jodi and I are reaching out far and wide to surround Ali and her family with thoughts and prayers.

On Monday, Ali will undergo tests throughout the entire day. The girls will be busy running from appointment to appointment and then they begin the waiting game. They will not get results on Ali’s scan until Tuesday afternoon.

As Jodi often says, “Sometimes we feel helpless when others have to go through something. Doing something like rising to a challenge helps us feel more involved in helping others.” Tuesday is going to be one of those days for us and we wanted to reach out to everyone once again and have you wear/display a little something blue to remember Ali throughout the day on Tuesday. Blue was the color Ali chose when she began her fight against cancer earlier this year; therefore, blue is the color we are choosing for Tuesday.

Do we need to paint our faces blue to rise to this challenge? No of course not. Just toss on a blue pair of earrings, a t-shirt, a piece of string on the wrist worn as a bracelet, a blue ribbon on your doorknob, or whatever you can think of to remind you of Ali on Tuesday.  We would love to have you post a comment here or email us to let us know you are joining the challenge.  We like to compile a list and share it with those we are supporting.

If you have not been following Ali’s story, you can read about this young girls fight against cancer and her families amazing faith throughout the entire process at  http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/alilengenfelder/journal.

Ali’s Mom shared the following Bible verse on Thursday as she was preparing for the trip.  I noticed it tied into the verse I recalled as I was searching for inspiration for this post…

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself…”  Matthew 6:33-34

Love them EVERY chance you get…

Anyone that matters to you can be gone in an instant.

Our community has been overwhelmed with tragedies in the last couple of weeks. It all began when a 42 year old woman from another city was killed in a motorcycle accident just miles outside of our hometown. Shortly after, a 35 year old friend was killed in a motor vehicle roll over and yesterday an 18 year old (graduated a month ago) was killed in a one vehicle accident.

These tragedies are all disconnected from one another but hitting our community in so many ways.

I just wanted to tell EVERYONE that I know to cherish each and every moment because there is absolutely no way of knowing if you will have another moment to share with someone, another moment to say sorry, another moment to say I love you, another moment to…

Praying for Families

May 10th, 2010 Posted in Family, Prayer Requests

I have been thinking an awful lot about families lately.  All sorts of families are out there needing prayer.  In my mind, as I sit here, I can think of several in my own little ‘circle of life’ that I decided to do a short post to remind everyone to pray for families.

I would love to have people add comments to remind us of other instances they can think of where families need prayer.  Here is the key, don’t give details about a specific family, but think of a way to remind each of us to pray for a need that a family has.  Here are the examples I can think of as I sit here tonight.

-families who are facing losing a loved one

-families who are going through a divorce

-families who have already divorced

-families with small babies who are adjusting to changes

-families with teenagers (enough said there)

-families who are struggling with alcoholism

-families who are struggling with drug addiction

-families who are recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction

-families with sick kids

-families with sick husbands

-families with sick wives

-families with ‘steps’ and ‘halves’

-families in disagreements

-families that are new (newlyweds)

-and my final one… happy families (that they shall continue to live happily)

To any of my friends or family who are reading this and you  feel yourself being “called out” almost by name, know that I am thinking of you and praying for you.  To those of you reading this who may not be connected to me in any other way except through this blog and you hear your name being called as well, know that you too have prayers coming your way.

Again, I ask that you leave comments below with any families you can think of that I may have missed.

God Bless YOU and YOUR FAMILY!
